Great weather conditions for this morning, Thursday February 5th, allowed the riders to session the freestyle backcountry zone. This zone has been especially built for the event, and combines runs through couloirs, rocks and a series of jumps. Riders were able to link up great jumps whilst landing in a powder filed. After three days of standby, the Oxbow Back to Powder will kick off tomorrow in what are expected to be great conditions. Due to the lack of sun this Tuesday, the riders had a tough time checking out their lines on the ?freeride zone?. However, the conditions for the next two days are expected to be much better, and therefore the organizers have set back the start date of the competition. The oxbow back to powder has kicked off to a good start. All the riders have arrived and will be gathered in the French resort of Areches Beaufort until January 7th. Today the riders spent the day checking out the different sites of the venue.The backcountry zone, the wood zone (consisting of a series of wooden features in the trees), and the perfect jump. The only inconvenience was the strong wind reaching up to 100km/h on the summits.
