OXBOW BACK TO POWDER 2009
Oxbow, Laurent Favre and Christoph Weber have invited the best riders from all over the world to the 2nd edition of “Oxbow Back To Powder” which will take place from February 1 through 7, 2009 at Arêches-Beaufort in Savoy (France).
Some of the most talented skiers and snowboarders in the world will be able to give free rein to their creativity in the eco-friendly ski area of Arêches-Beaufort. It’s in a completely virgin, protected environment that the 16 top riders will create their own modules. An impressive sight and a must-see for anyone who can make it to the event.
In this competition unlike any other, the riders themselves prepare the slope that they will then try to measure themselves up to. Thanks to videos, the riders are judged by their own opponents and, at the end of the day, it will be up to them to elect a winner in both the skiing and snowboarding categories to succeed Frenchman Xavier Delerue (snowboard) and Swede Kaj Zackrisson (skiing) who won the event in 2008.
This exceptional contest combines freestyle and freeride in a backcountry event that takes place in a 100% natural environment of absolute purity.
