This year’s race involved a total of 248km of mountain biking, 150km of trail-less trekking and 105km of river and sea kayaking in the wilderness of Chilean Patagonia. The 14 international teams had just 9 days to cover the distance. Only map and compass were allowed for navigation and only 6 teams managed to finish the race!

The most challenging part of this year’s Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race 2011 was the 150km of trail-less trekking in the wilderness of Chilean Patagonia. This year’s route of the Wenger Patagonian Race 2011 lead the competitors through gigantic fjords as they moved along the edge of the third largest continental ice field in the world. This is a virgin and wild area that man has not yet been able to conquer, where no trace of civilization exists!
