Sometimes the wait pays off. Challenging snow and weather conditions greeted Tim Durtschi and Sage Cattabriga-Alosa when they arrived in Les Arcs this January. The legendary Red Bull Linecatcher was unfortunately cancelled due to lack of snow on the venue and troublesome weather forecasts. Undeterred they went shredding together in white-out and dust on crust, making the most of their time in France. On the third day the sun luckily popped out for a few hours! So we took a trip to the best park in Sweden, Kläppen Snowpark, to get some time of the streets getting inspired. Taking nice long breaks among the snowy trees, drinking wine at night to the sweet sounds of LeeB's Ukulele with Idea on the TV. Big up's to Noppa and Kläppen snowpark for making it possible for us to go ski without worries.

The Compass series captures a visually stunning full spectrum experience from ski trips to three beautiful countries: Russia, Italy, and Japan. The contrasting culture, mountain shape, terrain, snow quality, food, language, music, pace of life and architecture all play into what it feels like to ski and travel abroad. For Nimbus, the series is a further departure from a mass appeal approach to ski movie making.

Some of the European Smith Team riders traveled up to Norway to a resort called Voss where they explored scrumptious Norwegian backcountry, slayed local snow parks and most importantly had fun in unexplored terrain together. In addition to fresh tracks, Smith Riders got a true Nordic experience while soaking up local culture and feasting on local cuisine
