4*FWQ Silvretta-Montafon - the next stage of the Open Faces is coming up. Many of the best freeriders will be at the start in Montafon (AUT) to qualify for the BIG FWQ FINALS 2022 at this last event before the "qualification cut". The challenging terrain will demand real skills from the freeriders and will offer a spectacular freeride show.

Fantastic Freeriding in the dreamlike deep snow in the beautiful Alpbachtal (AUT). There the freeriders offered an impressive show with spectacular runs. Nico Partell (AUT) stood out, winning men's ski with a run with 3 backflips and high speed overall. Strong performances of the young riders demonstrated the enormous development of freeride sports. High-quality runs, a lot of airtime, many backflips and an absolute "moment of the day" of the winner in the men's ski category.

Both ski categories performed a humongous show in Kicking Horse Golden B.C. with several backflips and wide jumps, much airtime and spins in the challenging terrain at the third stop of the Freeride World Tour.

The Freeride World Tour is ready for its 3rd stop. This will take place in Canada at Kicking Horse Golden BC, (CAN). The new competition format means the Cut will happen here and it will be the last chance for the athletes to earn their place for the FWT22 Finals! The playful terrain packed with natural features makes Kicking Horse Golden BC the ideal destination for riders looking to get creative and advance to the new finals format of the Tour!

After almost 2 years without freeride contests on Austrian soil, the first Open Faces Series contest, the 3*FWQ & 2*FJT stop in Kappl / Paznaun took place last weekend. The top performances of the riders from 13 nations and the joy of reunion of the so familiar scene contributed to an "epic" re-start of the most important World Qualifier Series in Europe. Alessandro Jossen from Switzerland, tackled a line that was unique on this day. He used the dangerous rocks right at the start for a first 360 into the absolute "no fall zone". Shortly thereafter he followed up on a rock with another even slightly "corked 3" and then a little later used a large cornice for a massive backflip. The rest of the journey was ultimately just a formality. With 89.67 points, he secured his third 3* contest in his young freeride career and 600 euros in prize money....

The Austrian Vicky Candlin was able to prevail in the women's ski category. Vicky relied on a fluid run and used the rocky terrain of the Quellspitze for many drops and smaller airtimes to win with 55.67 points. Dimanche, froid et neige au programme une bonne journée pour flâner sous son pled avec un bon livre ou devant un film. Quedalle! Aller s'amuser dans la foret d'en face en un bien meilleur programme.

Une saison hivernale marquée par la Covid-19. Pour profiter de la neige avec les stations fermées, le ski de randonnée était la seule alternative possible. Résumé de plusieurs sessions dans les Pyrénées et plus particulièrement dans la vallée d'Aure. Finalement cette saison 2020/2021 fût un régal avec de très bonnes conditions ! Bon visionnage !
