If you are a downhill pro rider you know that brakes are a huge part of your set up. You spend a lot of time to find the perfect feeling, the perfect balance between power and modulation. Once you have found the sweet spot you’re never too keen to try something different, specially during a world cup race weekend. There are not so many world cup races in a season, everything must be perfect, there’s no room for experimentations two days before your race run. Particularly if we’re talking about a sensitive component like the brakes.

In June of 2016, at the World Cup downhill in Leogang, we decided to have six riders test a brake they had never ridden. We asked them to try a completely new brake on their first run down the hill on the first day of practice. Then we asked them if they loved it or hates it. We left them free to race the new brakes or stay on what they were used to.

Six riders out of six decided to race the Cura brakes after they tested them for the very first time on the first day of practice in Leogang.

They all kept the Cura brakes for the rest of the season.

This is a true, unaltered , faithful documentation of their first impression.

The Cura won the bronze medal in Val di Sole at its very first world championships thanks to an amazing run from Florent Payet.
