The 29th Kaunertal Opening is over. Three days full of shredding, jibbing and partying.
In spite of not ideal snow conditions because of the warm temperatures the snowpark crew made magic happen and built an extremely creative alternative snowpark setup including features for riders at all levels and ages.

In spite of not ideal snow conditions because of the warm temperatures the snowpark crew made magic happen and built an extremely creative alternative snowpark setup including features for riders at all levels and ages.
It all started on Friday with the school project “School’s on glacier”. The school students could enjoy a whole day on the glacier to learn more about the glaciology.
On Saturday the Pro Contest and other highlights like the splitboard workshop made the second day of the opening so special. Freeski and Snowboard Pro Riders from all over the world got together at the KTO Pro Contest and competed at a high end level. Lisa Zimmermann and Alex Hall won the Freeski Contest and Eric Beauchemin and Elena Koenz stood out at the snowboard contest.
Compared to the Pro Contest on Saturday, the Amateur Contest on Sunday followed.
Freeskier Simon Geminiani won the male overall category as well as best trick and stood on the podium Wolf, who did the same in the female devision. Maximilian Preissinger got rewarted not just for best rookie and best trick, he also won the overall snowboard amateur contest. Not least all three days were full of movie premieres and parties.
