Gonzo
GONZO is the new ski flick produced by the french ski movie production, GPSY Feelin. You’ll find behind this short film the motivation of a solid crew of childhood friends and their efforts throughout 10/11 winter to bring you today their third film.
More than a title the word « gonzo » hides a story.
Hunter S. Thompson was the journalist who invented the journalistic style known as « gonzo » which consists of an ultra-subjective investigation made up of stories told in first person narrative. His particularity was informing the reader of the nature and intensity of a given fact, even if doing so required him to deform this reality to a certain extent, which he did by exploiting the visual and by choosing an angle which was creatively sarcastic.
His work is the inspiration behind this film, a tribute to this
reactionary writer and adventurer who dedicated his life to his work and to scandal, shock value and protest before finally putting an end to his life in
February 2005.
The idea behind this project was to look at our lives and life style, at our passion and what makes up our little world with a critical eye, to evoke a few home truths about the economics behind the cult system and at the real issues as they stand today.
Let yourself be guided by the film’s inner voice, accompanied by instrumental music in keeping with the simplicity of images which are a glimpse of skiing as we see it and of the lifestyle we cherish...not to mention a few sensual curves that have nothing to do with mountains !!
