Last December, Gigi Rüf hosted our film crew at his uncle's mountain retreat to film 'Alive', one of the most ambitious short snowboard films yet made: a backcountry powder sequence filmed entirely at night. The logistics of installing movie-set lighting on the side of a mountain were… challenging. Picking up from where burn's Human/Machines ends, POWDER & GLORY explores the two opposite poles of snowboarding—backcountry and contests—and is seen through the eyes of six burn riders at the height of their careers. Everybody needs a good old fashioned crash sometimes. It wakes you up and reconnects you to your body and mind...but it can be painful too! Even Arthur Longo and Gigi Rüf got rebooted a few times last season and came out fine in the end. Arthur was scoring the opener of Unique8 and Gigi claimed the ender!
