BUFF® Mountain Festival 2017 - Vall de Boí (ESP) – Highlights
The incredible landscapes of the Parc National D'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici as well as the magical settings of La Vall de Boí have been the chosen venue for the celebration, on 7, 8 and 9 July, of the first edition of BUFF® MOUNTAIN VALL DE BOI FESTIVAL.
An event that has brought together all types of public, experts and amateurs, and even entire families who have wanted to approach the festival to participate in the numerous activities both leisure and sports that have been carried out throughout of these three days, achieving an 80% occupancy in the entire Vall de Boí area.
Rafting, mountain-oriented workshops as well as the discovery of the Romanesque through the “Románico a Escena” play have been the most popular recreational activities these days. On the other hand, the kids have been the ones who have participated most and enjoyed the activities offered by this festival, from the Natural Campus to different workshops and the participation of almost 100 mini runners, between 4 and 14 years, in the Mini Sky race, whose registration was free and participating in it kids collaborated with the #UNICEF campaign against child poverty.
In addition, the BUFF® Mountain Festival has coincided with the traditional "Falles" d'Erill la Vall, declared in the UNESCO World Heritage.
The fourth edition of the BUFF® EPIC TRAIL and the first edition of the MTB MARATHON® have also been part of this festival which, on Sunday, comes to an end after three days of mountain activities, sports, live music and fun for all the family.
MTB MARATHON®
Simultaneously to the Half Marathon, in Barruera has been held the mountain bike competition that has decided the champion of Catalunya in distance marathon. After a demanding high mountain circuit that reached the ski resort of Boí Taüll - 58km away, 2,100m of positive difference and 2,272m altitude - Ever Alejandro Gómez, Tomás Bellès-Cannondale, and Ramona Gabriel, BUFF ® Scott Team, have been proclaimed the champions of Catalonia on BTT.
