For the ninth time in a row, 175 of the world’s best whitewater kayakers from 29 different countries, including 27 women, meet in Austria’s Ötztal between the 6th and 8th of October to determine the adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Champion on the legendary “Wellerbrücke“ rapids.

After a weekend of intense racing on the legendary Wellerbrücke rapids in Austria’s Ötztal valley, 27-year old Gerd Serrasolses from Sort in Spain outpaddled a field of the world’s finest kayakers in every single round of the competition, claiming his first and well deserved adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Champion title, ahead of David Bain from Great Britain and triple World Champion Sam Sutton from New Zealand.

Wildcard Rhiannan Iffland provided the perfect ending to a dream debut season with her fifth success in seven competitions, wrapping up the Red Bull Cliff Diving Women's World Series title in style under the lights in Dubai Marina, while Andy Jones soared to his first ever victory in front of a 12,000 strong crowd at the sport's inaugural night event. Iffland was joined on the podium by fellow Australian Helena Merten, with Adriana Jimenez from Mexico rounding out the top three.
