Another beautiful day here in LAAX for today’s Halfpipe Semi-Finals in the legendary LAAX Superpipe. 24 men and 12 women were battling for a spot in Saturday’s big finals. Olympic Gold Medalist Iouri Podladtchikov (SUI) won the Semi-Finals in his “home-pipe”, while Chloe Kim (USA) landed the best run in the women’s field.
All riders had two runs, with the best one counting. In the Men’s competition riders from Switzerland, the United States and China were clearly dominating the field today....

The LAAX OPEN 2017 ended with exciting Halfpipe finals today. The perfectly shaped LAAX Superpipe on Crap Sogn Gion was the center of attention, when 12 men and 6 women were trying to grab the Halfpipe crown. In breath-taking finals Chloe Kim (USA) and Chase Josey (USA) walked away as proud LAAX OPEN 2017 Halfpipe Champions.

Competitors brought their A game to the finals of the FIS Australia New Zealand Cup Freeski & Snowboard Halfpipe presented by Cardrona Alpine Resort at the QRC Winter Games NZ, fuelled by Forsyth Barr today.
