The men dropped into the pipe in the afternoon and perfect weather conditions continued for the men’s field. Iouri Padladchikov (SUI) had a little trouble on his first run but came back to take the top spot with his second drop putting down a huge crippler, double McTwist 1260, frontside 1080 tailgrab, and a Cab 720. With today’s result, Podladtchikov moved into World No. 1 in the Swatch TTR Rankings sitting behind current leader, Gjermund Braaten (NOR) Japanese riders were out in full fo...

The US Snowboard team, Louie Vito, JJ Thomas, Matt Ladley, Kelly Marren, Kaitlyn Farrington, Steve Fisher, and more came to a cool ski resort and snowboard park in Gaylord, Michigan to train before hitting up the 2011 Killington Vermont DEWTOUR and the X GAMES. The Otsego Club and Resort hosted the team, along with Simon Dumont, and had them practicing into the ACROBAG as well as hitting the 22 Foot halfpipe in preparation for next weekends events. Oslo, Norway played host for the first ever TTR World Snowboarding Championships. After ten years setting up the worlds biggest snowboarding tour, TTR and WSF, organised the World Snowboarding Championships as the pinnacle event of snowboarding, scheduled to be held every 4 years and featuring over two hundred of the worlds best riders.

Luke Mitrani (Stratton Mountain, VT) put down a huge first run to win. "This is crazy because I didn't even snowboard this summer. I just skateboarded a lot and took my mind off snowboarding, so to jump back into it is crazy to win a contest. I'm shocked. My strategy was to just focus on my riding and feed off of other people. When someone does something big it makes me want to ride even harder for myself."

The first 5Star halfpipe competition of the 2011/12 TTR World Tour season is in the bag and Japanese rider, Ryo Aono, and American, Kelly Clark, took home the victories at the 2011 Burton New Zealand Open. It was another perfect day at Cardrona Alpine Resort and the level of riding was set high from the start by the talented field of international riders.
