Due to small inconsistent waves The O'Neill Coldwater Classic Scotland was forced to hold off from running competition on the 2nd day after the incoming afternoon tide failed to pulse with adequate strength. After being placed on hold throughout the morning and early afternoon, event officials decided to return tomorrow morning to assess conditions for a possible restart of competition.

Lord Brent Dorrington (AUS) wins the O’Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland 2011! Lord Jay Quinn takes second.
Brent Dorrington raised the Highland Sword high above his head as he was knighted Lord Dorrington after winning the O’Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland 2011. In addition to the title of Lord and $20,000 prize money, Brent also gets to bring home the treasured Highland sword. Thurso East worked its magic to produce some of the best conditions ever seen in the history of this competition on the first day of the O’Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland 2011. The O’Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland continues to revel in stunning conditions at Thurso!
Following a lay day yesterday, the 6 Star ASP event kicked off at 8.30am on this sunny Friday morning at Thurso East in a solid 6 foot swell. Contest director Dave Reed finished off Round 1, moved through Round 2 and into the first two heats of Round 3 in another long day of surfing that made the most of the long days in this northern Scottish location.

Eight surfers today moved one step closer to being able to hang the Highland Sword on their mantlepiece and acquire the title of ‘Lord’ as the quarterfinalists were decided at the O’Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland.
