Canada's Gary Robbins was unable to finish the third lap of the Barkley Marathons under the cut-off time for completing the entire 100 miles. It was the third attempt in as many years for the North Vancouver-based ultrarunner. Only 15 different people have ever even finished the race. In 2017, Robbins made it onto the fifth and final lap, but was not able find his way in the darkness and DNFed.
