SnowFest Innsbruck 2023 - Rock a Rail - Best Of

The SnowFest in Innsbruck (AUT) was held from 24th to 26th November inviting some of the best freeskiers and snowboarders to Innsbruck. In the heart of the city in front of the Tiroler Landestheater, snowboarders competed in the Rock A Rail contest, while freeskiers got creative in the DownTown StreetSki competition. The centrepiece of it all, the snow ramp, is a 37m long, 17m wide and over 10m high structure with a unique urban setup. The snowboarders kicked things off in Innsbruck with the women hyping up the crowd first: Henna Ikola from Finland truly rode in a class of her own. She uses almost every rail and finally lands an incredible gap to frontside lipslide on the a-frame gap. Paula Benito (ESP) impresses the judges with solid tricks with lots of style and takes home the award for the Best Trick. In the men’s, the final heats up quickly, trick by trick. In the end there are two winners: Pat Fava (USA) and German Leon Gütl, who share 1st place together. In third place, the Norwegian Øyvind Kirkhus completes the podium and deservedly earns the best trick award for his insane backflip to boardslide on the a-frame gap.
