While there was a good amount of hammers being thrown down on the park jumps last spring, there were an equal amount of hammers at the Northstar halfpipe. With Danny Davis's handplants and 1080′s, Mikkel Bang's signature stylish airs, and Peetu Piiroinen's and Christian Haller's crazy method variations, there was no shortage of things to drop your jaw over.

An alley-oop is when you spin in a halfpipe or quaterpipe the opposite direction of your air, for example a backside spin on the frontside wall. Although they sound like an accident, they are hard to do, and look awesome when done right. The 5Star Burton Canadian Open halfpipe finals went down under the lights tonight in Calgary, Alberta at the Winsport Canada Olympic Park. The third annual TTR 5Star Burton Canadian Open 2011 presented by MINI is geared up and ready to rock the Winsport Canada's Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta all this week.
