On January 3rd, 2011 Danny Toumarkine took a horrible fall while snowboarding in Montana. Danny was care flighted to a local hospital where he spent the next 33 days. During his time at the hospital Danny underwent 4 brain surgeries as a result of impact trauma to the left side of his head. Danny is very lucky to be alive.

The FWT Junior World Championship (FWT JWC) is the highlight of the freeride juniors on ski and snowboard. On January 20th to 26th 2023, the annual highlight of the season takes place in Kappl-Paznaun, Austria.

After 2019 and 2020, Australian Scotty James once again took the win this year, wowing spectators with his stylish halfpipe run. Valentino Guseli (AUS) landed in second place, making a world premiere with a frontside 1620. Japan’s Ruka Hirano completes the podium in third place.
In the women’s event, last year’s winner Mitsuki Ono from Japan won with 81.75 points. The young American Bea Kim and Ruki Tomita (JPN) completing the podium in second and third place.

The twenty finalists showed progressive runs at this first FIS Snowboard World Cup of the season. Tricks such as cab double 9 on the shark fins, back to back 1620s on kickers, backside 5 in the quarter. The SnowFest in Innsbruck (AUT) was held from 24th to 26th November inviting some of the best freeskiers and snowboarders to Innsbruck. In the heart of the city in front of the Tiroler Landestheater, snowboarders competed in the Rock A Rail contest, while freeskiers got creative in the DownTown StreetSki competition. The centrepiece of it all, the snow ramp, is a 37m long, 17m wide and over 10m high structure with a unique urban setup.
