When I ride my local trail, right behind my house, it's time to chill out with nature. The fall is magic in the valley of Ordino, Andorra, where trees light up with amazing colors. The trail starts before Arcalis ski station, and goes almost all the way to La Massana where Vallnord Bike Park is located. In this video, I only ride a small portion. It's my first edit with a drone (DJI Spark), gimbal (Fey Tech WG2) and music.

For a little change from rides between pros for his vlog on Youtube. CG thought is would be fun to take a beginner like me and comment what I do in a run of Vallnord Bike Park. To make it a little more challenging, he picked the most difficult track of all : his track (former World Cup track 2008 & 2009.

I couldn't resist checking out the changes on the World Cup course of Vallnord 2016, final leg of the UCI Downhill World Cup. The crew worked hard on the track, but everything is bone dry. Thus, I'm not sure the course will last long before becoming a breaking bumps and blown out corners fiesta.

In 2015 the Blue Commencal was born, starting from Pal Station to end at La Massana. It was the first of its kind in Vallnord, usually known for steep, technical and rough terrain, aimed at downhill racing like the UCI World Cup or downhill marathon mountain bike races like Maxiavalanche. The Blue Commencal track was the first real flow track in Vallnord, in the spirit of a giant BMX track. Mountain of Pal (location of Vallnord Bike Park) owns an infinity of trails. Riding a mix of Bobby, Maxi Bueno and Sam Track is the most challenging downhill track in the area. However, it's not part of the official Vallnord Bike Park circuit. Ride it at your own risks.

It's probably the wildest scene in mountain biking : 700 riders huge Mass Start on the snow. Here is Mountain Of Hell 2016 in Les 2 Alpes. I qualified on line 12, and finished 30th in Master 2 in 52:23:72 I was still putting on my gloves when the race started, but I went full gas not touching the brakes until the end where I realized my rear brake was not working. Whatever the longest downhill race in the world... nothing like a huge mass start carnage on the steepest icy hill one can find. Long live Megavalanche !

Here is the best one my many crashes during Mountain Of Hell 2016, the legendary mou I didn't know part of the trail was missing on this section. Not enough speed to hope for a happy outcome; thus, I decided to throw down the bike and grab the opposite side with my fists.

After road climbing the infamous Col d'Ordino (you see BMC team passing me by, practicing for the upcoming Tour de France 2016), you come back down on an amazing trail. The trail is really various with wide open tracks where you can go full speed, mixed with steep singltracks full of roots and rocks. The ride is about 10km long. Climb is 488m D+ and descent is 378 D-

Perfect day for riding today in Vallnord Bike Park. Here is the best part with 2 crashes and an almost one

Bexalis is on a mountain nearby Vallnord Bike Park. You can spot Cedric Gracia training or Commencal shooting videos. There are 3 main tracks with endless options. The ride is very various, from the usual Vallnord roots and rocks steep DH to nice and soft singletracks. If you come to Andorra, check out Hugo at Riders Boutique. On the DH Word Champs 2015 track in Vallnord, the first wall is a simple warning for what's coming up. You really don't want to fall there at all ! Check ! I crashed and survived :-)

Everything was going smoothly, finishing up a beautiful ride down Route 66 of Vallnord Bike Park. Then, a fly decided to enter my mouth at high speed...

Welcome to Andorra ! This pas week-end was the official opening of our local bike park, here in Vallnord. I got the chance to ride with the Commencal family, including PEF aka Pierre Edouard Ferry. Lucky me, I was able to hold on to PEF for about 3 turns, before he turned into a cloud of dust. You can also spot Thibaut Menu with a blue shirt. Thibaut is the film maker behind Hexagone.

In the bottom part, after the big straight part going slightly uphill, there is a huge downhill part. Instead of the usual very steep and tricky part, which goes straight down the mountain, they build some kind of circuit off camber with tight turns. Not my cup of tea, but will adapt. I preferred the old version, especially since I'm riding a Commencal Supreme DH 2015 with 27.5" wheels.

Doing some try outs for what could be the lines choice for the upcoming MaxiAvalanche 2015 in Vallnord, Andorra. It's only the bottom part because the Bike Park of Vallnord only opens this week-end, Hope to see you there.
