A season full of ups and downs. After an ACL tear in 2016 I came back to full strength just in time for winter and the FWQ season. Right at my first competition in january I took a nasty crash and injured my right foot. The rest of the seaon I had to deal with an aching ankle and didn't feel 100% on my skis until spring. Anyway I managed to make this little edit out of the few shots I got.

One day after his 26th birthday and after Mexico’s rising star started closing in on the podium’s top spot during the last competition in the Azores, Jonathan Paredes took the day’s high score (480.90pts) for the first time in his World Series career. Another premiere followed in second position with 24-year-old Sergio Guzman (471.05pts) being the first invitee to finish that high in the rankings in only his fourth World Series appearance. David Colturi (470.60pts), who sneaked into the final...

Jonathan Paredes takes first ever Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series victory in Mostar (BIH) on August 15, 2015.
The Mexican had snatched the lead with a superb effort in Friday’s Seeding Round and went on to join a list of only 8 divers who have won an event in Red Bull Cliff Diving history. It was a stunning display of diving in Mostar’s old town on this red-hot Saturday afternoon. 12,000 fanatical spectators saw fellow Mexican Sergio Guzman score the first ever podium finish of a wildcard...

'Life, Magic, and Love' - The fascination of cliff diving.
“Some people don’t understand why we go up 27m and jump off, go back up there and do it again,” says Gary Hunt (UK), four-time Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series champion, expanding he goes on, “it’s fun, it’s extreme, and it’s work – but doesn’t feel like work.” Jumping off great heights with no protection other than concentration, skill, and physical control; in less than three seconds reaching speeds in excess of 85kph, and punc...

After the competition’s Seeding Round off the ‘Snakehead’ rock on Friday, the 31-year-old ‘Brilliant Brit’ was positioned only 12th but recovered to rack up a haul of 471.80 points to win for the fifth time in a row. And although the English winning streak continued, Mexico’s rising star Jonathan Paredes (450.90pts) – the youngest athlete in the World Series at 25 years of age – pushed the champion closer than anyone else has done so far this season, achieving 10s from the judges for two of h...

PURE CLIFF DIVING SEES NEW FACES ON THE PODIUM
With three new podium finishers the 2015 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series enters a decisive phase
Mexico’s Jonathan Paredes and Andy Jones, from the United States, cause a stir in the World Series as they dive into the top-three in the season’s purest stop on a volcanic islet in the Azores archipelago, behind the ever-dominant Gary Hunt, from England. In what was the year’s closest result from almost three times the Olympic height, the athlet...

The season’s first stop on European soil was a return to the World Series’ all-time favourite location – La Rochelle. The town with the apt name of ‘little cliff’ was the lynchpin for the world’s cliff diving elite for the fifth time in the seven years of the series and it was Gary Hunt (516.00pts) who took an impressive win ahead of his nearest rivals. Second-placed Aldridge debuted a brand-new dive in World Series competition on Sunday - his reverse double somersault with five twists has no...

Going into the second half, the 2014 World Series also returns to its pure and most fascinating natural side. Diving from a 28m cliff face without the support of a rock solid platform creates a special thrill and challenge for the world’s top athletes. The two previous competitions on Portuguese soil have seen Artem Silchenko and Gary Hunt – both World Ser...

Evolution of the sport - The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series is in its fifth year in 2013 and the sport keeps progressing every year. Cliff diving is more dynamic than ever and the tricks from 27 metres get more and more complicated. The degree of difficulty increases steadily and this year several athletes break the magical 6.0 hurdles. They perform three somersaults and four twists, for example, or five somersaults in just 3 seconds – is this the limit?

In 2013 the title is decided during eight competitions between May and October. Until today we have seen three different winners in four competitions and it’s not always the most difficult dives that earn the highest scores from the judges. Consistency is what counts in a long season and now everybody can handle that and finish in the top every single time. Why is that? And what is more important – to show a new and more difficult dive or stick to your “tried and trusted” programme? Why do so...

Orlando Duque takes first season win during fifth stop of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2013. After the highest scoring required rounds ever in a World Series competition – two 10s for Artem Silchenko’s new flying inward one somersault pike, one 10 for the later winner and no score from the judges lower than a 7 – the result allowed Orlando Duque (690pts) to close the gap on World Series champion Gary Hunt (780pts) and Silchenko (700pts) in the fight for the overall crown.

The fourth stop of the World Series might bring about the beginning of a new era: for
the first time in the history of Red Bull Cliff Diving a female competition will be held.
Brave female cliff divers will fight for victory from 20m. The requirements for both male

and yet there are differences mainly in the physical constitution. And this means
differences in the height of the platform compared to the...

Fitness is an absolutely important part for cliff divers not to get injured. One competition after the other within seven days – that’s hard for a cliff diver’s body. What’s the perfect training for bones and muscles to deal with a challenge like this? Is it an advantage to be a rookie diver in a young body or does experience play a role as well?

It was Gary Hunt, the ‘brilliant Brit’ of the World Series, who decided the third stop – the second within seven days – would be his early this Saturday morning, cutting in on Artem Silchenko’s back-to-back wins.
